Overview

Australia Post is very pleased to recognise the gold-medal performance of Jared Tallent. Following the disqualification of Russian Sergey Kirdyapkin, Tallent has been belatedly awarded gold for the 50km walk at the London 2012 Games.

The gold medallist stamp will be released soon after Tallent receives the award at a ceremony held in Melbourne on 17 June 2016.

The sheetlet of 10 stamps will be available through participating Post Offices, by mail order and online, while stocks last.

Visit Jared Tallent’s website to learn more about the athlete and his achievements.

2016 Australian Gold Medallist Instant Sheetlets

Australia Post began its gold medallist instant stamp program with the Sydney Olympic Games, in 2000. To continue that tradition, and to celebrate each Australian gold medal performance at Rio, Australia Post will produce a gold medallist stamp in a sheetlet of 10 for each win.

The stamp designs will feature the athletes at the medal ceremony.

How to purchase

The gold medallist sheetlets will be available through participating Post Offices and the Australian Philatelic Bureau mail-order service within days of the medal ceremony.

Standing order customers

The gold medallist sheetlets are not included in any Philatelic Bureau standing order. If you have a standing order, you will need to request required configurations from the Philatelic Bureau, by phoning 1800 331 794 (freecall) within Australia.
