Overview
Outstanding athletes Madison de Rozario and Ben Tudhope are celebrated with the Paralympian of the Year Award, aligning with the Tokyo and Beijing Paralympic Games respectively. Paralympics Australia’s highest award recognises not only the medal success of wheelchair racer de Rozario and para-snowboarder Tudhope at the Paralympic Games, but also the personal bests that each has achieved and their leading embodiment of the values and behaviours of Australian Paralympic Teams.
To recognise these incredible athletes, Australia Post has released a commemorative sheetlet of 10 stamps for each Paralympian of the Year.

Paralympians of the Year 2020 – Madison de Rozario
Coached by renowned Paralympian Louise Sauvage, Madison de Rozario specialises in middle- and long-distance wheelchair racing, holding the world record in the Women’s 800m T53. At the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, she won gold in this event and in the Women’s Marathon T54, as well as bronze in the 1500m T54.
Paralympians of the Year 2022 – Ben Tudhope
Like de Rozario, Ben Tudhope was just 14 when he competed in his first Paralympic Games, at Sochi in 2014. The co-captain of the Australian Paralympic team at the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics, Tudhope came home with his first Paralympic medal when he took out the bronze in the Men’s Para-Snowboard Cross SB LL2 event.
