Sydney, NSW

The city of Sydney, New South Wales, was established in 1788 on the lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora nation. With more than five million residents, today Sydney is the most populous of our state capitals. The famous Sydney Opera House is situated on Bennelong Point on the spectacular Sydney Harbour, which is featured on the stamp.

Perth, WA

The largest state by area, Western Australia occupies approximately a third of the continent. The capital city of Perth, located on the beautiful Swan River and bounded by the Indian Ocean, was established in 1829 on the lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people. With around 2.3 million inhabitants, Perth has the fourth largest population of cities in Australia. The stamp photograph features Elizabeth Quay, a waterfront precinct adjacent to the Swan River.
