From Thursday 30 March to Sunday 2 April 2017, philatelists and stamp enthusiasts from around the world will converge on Caulfield Racecourse for the Melbourne 2017 International Stamp Exhibition (the 34th Federation of Inter-Asian Philately (FIAP) International Exhibition). This is the second time in 30 years that Australia is hosting a FIAP International Stamp Exhibition in Australia, and there really is something for everyone!

As well as impressive national and international exhibits, there will be experienced stamp and coin dealers in attendance, tailored information for beginners and youth collectors, and philatelic material for sale from all around the world. As the event’s major sponsor, Australia Post will have a large centrepiece stand, where visitors can purchase newly released limited edition products and have special postmarks applied.

Here’s a taste of what you can enjoy at Melbourne 2017:

  • View 1,000 competitive philatelic exhibit frames from 20 countries of the Oceania and Asia regions. These are world-class exhibits spanning all 14 exhibition classes.
  • Browse philatelic material for sale from all over the world.
  • Visit the more than 70 stamp and coin dealers that will have stands at the show, including The Perth Mint.
  • Receive free advice and expert valuations from a number of Australian and overseas auction houses.
  • Take a look at “Royalpex 125”, a non-competitive exhibition of 200 frames to mark the Royal Philatelic Society of Victoria’s 125th anniversary.
  • Pop in to the dedicated collector and youth corner, especially for young collectors or those just starting out.
  • Learn more about the philatelic societies and groups that will gather in the venue’s two meeting rooms at various times over the four days.
  • Attend the official Awards Dinner, held at the Melbourne Aquarium.
